SOUTH AFRICAN BROADCASTING CORP...

...PURCHASES 10 BROADCAST PIX SLATE SYSTEMS.

The official broadcaster of the 2010 FIFA world cup have purchased 10 Slate 1000 live video production systems to use during this international event.

The SBAC chose the 1ME Slate 1000 because of its integrated Fluent productions tools that include clip and graphics stores, multi-view and Inscriber CG. The system also provides multi-definition production with support for 1080i, 720p and SD sources.

The tournament starts on June 11th and will be played in 10 stadiums in nine South African cities. The tournament is expecting to attract many more people beyond ticketed sales so, FIFA have authorized fan parks. These will be positioned near to the stadiums to provide live coverage of the games in public viewing areas.

The Slate 1000 will be used to switch the video and add clips and graphics. Once the tournament is over, the SABC intend to use the systems for regional programming.
